Win: couponing [73]

So you guys remember in yesterday’s post I mentioned that Mr. Hubs was couponing?  This isn’t something we are accustomed to.  Not at all, actually.  We typically grocery shop on Mondays at Piggly Wiggly because they do a 10% student discount that day.  Whoopti-freaking-doo.  I’ve been dying to go to another grocery store.  Any other grocery store.  Oh, and we buy store brand everything.  No joke.  Well, maybe a little joke.  Sometimes we get regular brand if there isn’t a store brand.  But basically the food we end up spending a ton of money on every two weeks tastes like poo.  But we think we’re saving money so we deal with it.

Uh?  You guys.  I may never have to shop at Piggly ever again!  Mr. Hubs did such a good job couponing this weekend that we didn’t buy a SINGLE store brand item today.  In fact, we bought yummy delicious food!  And a lot of it!  Tonight we went to Publix armed with coupons and knowledge of their BOGO sales.  We SAVED more than we SPENT!  Our total before coupons: $156.88.  Our total after coupons: $78.26.  We saved $78.62!!  We stocked up on quite a bit.  We’re hoping to get even better at the whole couponing thing, but for now we’ll call it a win!

I am super duper excited for the next project I’m going to get started on.  I’m not exactly sure it’s going to turn out great, but I think the idea is a good one.  Stay tuned for the results.  If it ends up working out well, I think a lot of you newlyweds will be excited to do it too.  Because this is something we all wonder what to do with.  And none of us want to throw away.  Stay tuned :-D
