anything can happen

on a snow day…

When I was a little girl, I used to live for snow days. Living in Raleigh, NC, it was rare that we ever saw enough snow to even leave a footprint in. But sometimes, God would dump a layer of the clean white stuff that made us all believe we could all start over, and enough to give us a day off from school.

But, when we grow up, we suddenly learn that all the things we used to believe were so full of magic are actually not that magical at all. We learn the ultimate truth about Santa that breaks our hearts. We discover that prince charmings don’t actually ride white horses. But snow is always full of magic. Whether you’re young and you wake up at the crack of dawn, don your snow gear and dive into the white fluff or you’re older, sleep in and use the day of stolen time to accomplish all those things you’ve put off for a “rainy” day {because as I said before, snow days aren’t common around here} snow is magical.

Don’t you love how everything gets blanketed. Snow provides the evidence of others who venture out. I love finding all the different tracks in the snow. It makes me happy to know that we have little visitors. I wonder if snow days are just as amazing for them.

And, yes. I am engaged. And engaged people love being engaged and take ridiculous photos that prove they are engaged all the time. And I couldn’t resist the urge to take the above photo. I just couldn’t. ;)
I hope you all enjoyed your magical snow days!!
