one monday closer [96]

So this just came pouring out of me this morning. As you all know, poetry is not my forte nor where I find comfort–but for today, I was inspired.

Alarm clock rings
Cat jumps up
He scratches my face
As he runs a muck
Coffee pot’s busted
And I don’t see the point
Of putting in an eight hour day
For just a couple of coins
When I was eighteen
I had all kinds of plans
I was going to be somebody
Now I’m answering to the man
So I punch in the numbers
And count down the days
I’m one Monday closer
To living my dreams
With the man I love more than anything
…Only thirty more weeks until our wedding day….

About JoElizabeth

I am a writer who loves to explore all different types of relationships. I am most happy when surrounded by my loved ones and furry children. I've never met a stranger, and I talk way too much. My favorite things to do are eat {preferably at a restaurant} with good friends, write, watch DVDs of TV series {especially FRIENDS}, drink lots of coffee and learn.
